Choosing a Curriculum
One of the greatest things about home schooling is that we get to choose what works best for our children when it comes to their education. To some, that may look like a boxed curriculum set, to others it may look like an online program. Personally? I like to mix and match. Here are some links to different websites that provide online or boxed curriculum as well as games and other teacher resources. Don't see your favorites on the list? Unsure of which curriculum to choose?
Try looking in bookstores or at a local curriculum sale so you can browse through the pages. You might even find used books online on Amazon. Sign up for free trials of online sites, or create a profile in one of the free programs and see how your child does. I've even made a list of requirements for the year and created my own unit studies with online resources and trips to the library. Don't be afraid to try different things until you find what learning style works best for your family!
